Lovibond® liquid reagent DPD 3 reagent solution
Description
For the determination of bound chlorine and total chlorine.
The liquid reagent DPD3 buffer solution is used in water analysis to determine the bound chlorine content and the total chlorine content in pool water. It supplements the DPD method and is used after the addition of DPD1.
DPD3 is added to the water sample taken after the reaction of DPD1 with free chlorine. The DPD3 buffer solution contains potassium iodide, which reacts in the presence of bound chlorine. The content of bound chlorine can be determined on the basis of the resulting color reaction.
Suitable for Lovibond® photometer MD 110 and photometer MD 200.
Liquid reagents develop their chemical effect very quickly as they dissolve easily in water samples. They are therefore among the fastest detection agents.
When using liquid reagents, attention must be paid to the exact dosage, as the number and size of the drops influence the color complex to be measured. The special shape of the Lovibond® dropper bottles ensures an optimum drop size and makes it easier to count the drops.
