Lovibond® liquid reagent DPD 1 buffer solution
Description
The "blue" DPD 1 buffer solution is used to set a pH reference value.
In water analysis, a liquid reagent DPD1 buffer solution is used to determine the chlorine and disinfectant content in water. The buffer solution ensures stable pH conditions and is used in combination with the "green" DPD 1 and DPD 3 reagent solutions.
DPD1 reacts with free chlorine in the water. This produces a pink to red color reaction, the intensity of which is proportional to the concentration of free chlorine.
Suitable for Lovibond® photometer MD 110 and photometer MD 200.
Liquid reagents develop their chemical effect very quickly as they dissolve easily in water samples. They are therefore among the fastest detection agents.
When using liquid reagents, attention must be paid to the exact dosage, as the number and size of the drops influence the color complex to be measured. The special shape of the Lovibond® dropper bottles ensures an optimum drop size and makes it easier to count the drops.
